Great News: The agreement between Albania and Canada regarding pensions has been ratified
and will enter into force on August 1, 2022. [1] The Agreement on Social Security Agreement
between Canada and the Republic of Albania was firstly signed on April 30, 2019, in Ottawa,
Canada and it was said that it will enter into force once both countries have completed their legal
procedures[2], now finally the time has come.

What is this Agreement and How can you benefit from it?

According to the Albanian Foreign Minister, Mrs. Olta Xhaçka, this agreement gives the citizens
of both countries the right to enjoy all the benefits of their contributions. [3] The agreement on
mutual recognition of social security helps Albanian and Canadian citizens living and working in

plans of the two countries.

MINISTERIAL INSTRUCTIONS RESPECTING INVITATIONS TO APPLY FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE UNDER THE EXPRESS ENTRY SYSTEM (July 20, 2022)

1. Interpretation

The following definitions apply in these Instructions.

eligible foreign national means a foreign national whose expression of interest is in the express entry pool established by the Express Entry Instructions. (étranger admissible)

Express Entry Instructions means the Ministerial Instructions Respecting the Express Entry System, as published in the Canada Gazette, Part I, on December 1, 2014, as amended from time to time. (Instructions concernant le système Entrée express)

specific ranking means (a) for a class referred to in any of paragraphs 2(a) to(c) of the Express Entry Instructions, the ranking established only among the eligible foreign nationals who are eligible to be invited to make an application in that class; and (b) for the class referred to in paragraph 2(d) of those Instructions, the ranking established only among the eligible foreign nationals who are members of that class. invitation has the same meaning as in section 1 of the Express Entry Instructions. (invitation)

2. Invitations — Period

Invitations may be issued under these Ministerial Instructions during the period beginning on July 20, 2022 and ending on July 21, 2022

3. Invitations — Number

The number of invitations that may be issued is 1,750.

4. Invitations — Rank

For an eligible foreign national to be invited to make an application, they must be ranked among the first 1,750 eligible foreign nationals in the general ranking.
